A UK team pays Aircall £25 a licence a month on Essentials or £40 on Professional, billed annually, with a minimum of three licences. The AI Voice Agent is available there and priced in pounds: £0.22 a minute pay as you go, bundles from £180 for 1,000 minutes, and a £75 monthly minimum if you buy it standalone.
The pound page is not a simple conversion of the dollar one. Prices, bundle sizes and add-ons differ, VAT is not mentioned, and some details (SMS rates, number documents) are only available on request. Everything below was read from Aircall's own pages in November 2026, and the reasoning shows you how to check your own quote against it.
The UK price list, line by line
Aircall shows UK visitors a separate price list in pounds. These are the figures for each licence and add-on, all per month and with annual billing unless stated.
| Item | UK price | Dollar equivalent on the main page |
|---|---|---|
| Essentials licence | £25 | $30 |
| Professional licence | £40 | $50 |
| Enterprise | Custom, 25-user minimum | Custom, 25-user minimum |
| Extra phone number | £5 | $6 |
| AI Assist Pro (per user) | £40 | $49 |
| WhatsApp in Aircall (per seat) | £8 | $10 |
| Analytics+ (per seat) | £9 | $15 |
| Aircall for Salesforce Voice (per seat) | £25 | $30 |
Do not convert these with an exchange rate and call it a saving or a premium. They are separately set prices, and the relationship between them may change whenever Aircall updates a page. What matters is the figure on your own quote, in the currency you will be invoiced in.
All plans require at least three licences whatever the billing cycle, and Enterprise needs 25 users. So the smallest Essentials commitment is 3 x £25 = £75 a month, and the smallest Professional commitment is 3 x £40 = £120 a month, in each case before extra numbers or AI minutes. The page says paying annually saves 25%, but its monthly-billed figures sit behind a billing toggle and did not show in the page text I read. If the saving is exactly a quarter, monthly billing would be about £33 a licence on Essentials and £53 on Professional, so confirm the real figures on the toggle or in your quote.
For the line-by-line difference between the two tiers, Aircall Pricing Plans: Essentials or Professional for a Sales Team goes through what Professional adds. For this tutorial it is enough to know that call recording is on every plan, but how long you can reach recordings differs, as covered further down.

Buy nowWhat a five-seat office pays, worked through
Take a wholesale distributor with five people who take trade orders by phone, and a sixth line for the warehouse. The owner wants two numbers, a main line and a separate line for supplier calls, and wants to test the AI Voice Agent on after-hours order-status calls. Here is the monthly bill on Essentials with annual billing, using the pound list prices.
| Line | Calculation | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|
| Five Essentials licences | 5 x £25 | £125.00 |
| Second number | 1 x £5 (the first number is included) | £5.00 |
| AI Voice Agent, 600 minutes | (600 - 50 free) x £0.22 | £121.00 |
| Outbound attempts by the agent | 100 x £0.011 | £1.10 |
| Total before VAT | £252.10 |
The AI element is nearly half the bill, which is why the per-minute maths deserves its own attention. The origination fee of £0.011 per outbound attempt comes from Aircall's help centre, and it applies even when a call does not connect. If the same firm kept to Professional, the licence line rises to 5 x £40 = £200 and the total to £327.10.
If VAT at the 20% standard rate were added to the £252.10, the total would be £302.52, an extra £50.42. A VAT-registered business normally reclaims that on its return, so the cash effect is a timing difference, but a business that is not VAT-registered would bear it. Aircall's UK pricing page is silent on the point, which is the reason to ask for an itemised quote showing whether VAT is included.
The AI Voice Agent in pounds
The AI Voice Agent has its own UK rate card. Aircall's help centre lists pay as you go as $0.29 or £0.22 a minute, and the UK page shows the bundles in pounds.
| Option | Price | Effective rate per minute |
|---|---|---|
| Pay as you go | £0.22 a minute | £0.22 |
| 1,000-minute bundle | £180 a month | £0.18 if fully used |
| 3,500-minute bundle | £595 a month | about £0.17 |
| 10,000-minute bundle | £1,400 a month | £0.14 |
| Over 50,000 minutes | Custom | "as low as £0.09" |
Standalone, the product has a £75 monthly minimum, and the page's own calculator shows 2,500 minutes at £550 pay as you go against £510 a month on subscription. Reproduce that: 1,000 minutes for £180 plus 1,500 more at £0.22 (£330) is £510. Bundles are billed monthly with an annual commitment, and unused minutes expire at the end of each cycle.
The break-even points, worked out the same way as in Aircall Pricing per Minute: AI Voice Agent Rates, Bundles, Limits, come out like this in pounds:
1,000 bundle vs pay as you go: £180 / 0.22 = about 818 minutes
3,500 bundle vs pay as you go: £595 / 0.22 = about 2,705 minutes
3,500 bundle vs 1,000 bundle + overage:
180 + 0.22 x (x - 1,000) = 595 -> x = about 2,886 minutes
10,000 bundle vs 3,500 bundle + overage:
595 + 0.22 x (x - 3,500) = 1,400 -> x = about 7,159 minutes
For the distributor's 600 minutes, pay as you go wins, because 600 is below the 818-minute threshold. If after-hours order status grew to 1,100 minutes, the 1,000 bundle plus overage (£180 + 100 x £0.22 = £202) would beat pay as you go (£242) by £40 a month, assuming the annual commitment suits.
Two points are specific to UK buyers. First, the AI Voice Agent supports 38 languages according to Aircall, which helps a firm with callers who prefer another language, though it is worth testing each one you need with a real call. Second, the "free" 50 monthly minutes and 100 trial minutes apply to your account, so use them for UK-accent and UK-vocabulary test calls (postcodes, "dispatch note", "next-day pallet") before choosing a bundle.
Local numbers: what you can buy and how long it takes
Each plan includes one number, described as local or toll-free, and extra numbers cost £5 a month each. Aircall's help centre explains the buying process in general terms: number availability and regulatory requirements vary by country, some numbers can be bought directly in the dashboard, and others need a request to customer support.
When a request goes through support and your documents are already verified, Aircall says the purchase usually takes 1 to 3 business days, though carrier provisioning can change that. Requests for easy-to-remember numbers, consecutive numbers or number blocks go through support too, and Aircall checks carrier availability and offers options for approval.
The documents each country requires are listed in Aircall's country-coverage article, and the number-purchasing article asks you to prepare them before buying. For the UK it lists four number types:
| Number type | Self-service? | What Aircall asks for |
|---|---|---|
| Geographic (local) | Yes | Proof of business and a business address in the UK: a business registration plus an invoice or utility bill showing the address, dated within six months, and the name, email and phone of an authorised representative |
| National | Yes, with a limit | Proof of business and a business address anywhere, with a registration and a recent invoice; self-serve ordering is limited to companies with a UK local address |
| Toll-free | No, through support | The same as for national numbers |
| Mobile | Yes | Business name, address, registration number, company website and the representative's details, backed by a register excerpt or registration |
In practice that means a scan of the company registration and one recent utility bill or supplier invoice in the company name covers most orders. Check that the address on the bill matches the registered or trading address you enter, because a mismatch is the easiest way to have documents sent back.
Think about number type before you buy. A familiar approach is to give each public-facing line a local-looking number with the area code customers recognise, and to keep a second number for suppliers so you can route it differently. Toll-free numbers are the exception to the "inbound is free" rule. The pricing table includes inbound calls except toll-free ones, and Aircall's number-types article says that with a toll-free number your business covers the cost of incoming calls, and that such numbers are generally reachable only from within the same country. Ask what yours will cost per minute.
If you are moving an existing number across, the process is called porting, and Cancelling Aircall: Notice Period, Number Porting and Call History explains what happens to numbers and history at both ends. Port timing is set by the current carrier, so schedule the switch for a quiet day, not Monday morning.
UK calling allowances you can easily misread
Aircall's UK page lists calling allowances that look generous but have edges. Essentials includes 1,000 domestic outbound minutes per user per month. Professional and Enterprise include unlimited domestic outbound calls. Inbound and internal calls are unlimited on all plans, except for toll-free numbers.
A footnote explains that domestic means calls within one of a list of countries that includes the UK, and the page says additional international calling bundles are available. So a sales person on Essentials making 60 outbound calls a day averaging four minutes uses 4 x 60 x 20 working days = 4,800 minutes, far over the 1,000-minute allowance. A support-heavy team that mostly takes inbound calls will never touch the limit. Before you pick Essentials, count outbound minutes per person from your current phone bill.
The same exercise applies to the AI Voice Agent when it makes outbound calls. Outbound attempts carry the £0.011 origination fee, and calls to mobiles or international numbers may cost more in telephony. Aircall's rates for these are not on the page, so ask for the outbound rate card for the destinations you actually call.
SMS in the UK: available, but priced on request
Aircall's SMS is available in 14 countries, with domestic delivery only apart from one cross-border pair. The UK is on the domestic list. The pricing page footnote says plans include unlimited inbound messages and 4,000 outbound messages per user per month. MMS is more limited, and the page contradicts itself about which numbers support it, so do not plan on picture messages.
The SMS rates for UK numbers are shown as "contact us". That is a gap to close before you rely on text messaging for delivery notifications, appointment reminders or payment chasers. Ask these questions: Is the SMS included in my plan or charged per message? Are there registration steps before a UK number can send? What happens if I send to a number abroad, given the domestic-only rule?
A practical illustration: the distributor wants to text customers "your pallet is on its way, delivery window 10:00-14:00". Domestic delivery is fine. But if one of its customers is based abroad with a foreign mobile, Aircall's statement that delivery is domestic only means that text may not go, and a fallback by email is needed. Test it with a colleague's foreign SIM before building an automation on it.
Call recording and the announcement your callers hear
Call recording is included on Essentials, Professional and Enterprise. Access to the recordings differs: Essentials gives up to one year by request, with six months available in the dashboard, while Professional and Enterprise give unlimited access by request, again with six months in the dashboard. The plan comparison shows call summaries and key-topic recognition included on Professional, while on Essentials they need the AI Assist add-on.
Aircall's help centre sets out how to turn recording on. Only users with Admin permission can switch it on, and the article tells you to confirm that recording is legal where you operate before you do. The announcement is set per number: open Dashboard, Numbers, pick the number and its Settings tab, and find the Call Recording section. For outgoing calls you can turn on a message that plays before the call connects, and choose between a text-to-speech voice, a custom audio file or your own recording. The agent hears the message but is muted until it ends, and the announcement starts as soon as the call is answered, so an automated step that answers first can swallow part of it.
On the legal side, in the UK businesses generally record calls for purposes such as quality, training and keeping a record, but the recording is personal data, so you need a lawful basis, you must be transparent, you should keep recordings no longer than you need and you should limit who can listen. An AI transcript or summary is also personal data. The practical steps are:
- Decide what you record for (training, disputes, compliance) and write it down in one sentence.
- Add a short line to the welcome message on every inbound number: "Calls may be recorded for training and quality. See our privacy notice on our website."
- Name call recordings and AI transcripts in your privacy notice, with a retention period.
- Restrict who can play recordings to named managers, and review the list every quarter.
- Decide what happens to a recording when a customer asks for it, or asks for it to be deleted.
This is a practical outline, not legal advice, and recording sensitive conversations (health, financial advice, legal matters) can carry stricter expectations. Ask a qualified adviser, and see Best AI Receptionist for a UK Small Business: Numbers, Recording, GDPR for a longer treatment of recording and data handling for a small UK firm.
An AI voice agent adds a point of its own. Many businesses tell callers up front that they are speaking to an automated assistant, then offer a way to reach a person. That is good practice for trust even where no rule forces the wording, and it avoids the complaint "I thought I was talking to a person". Write the opening line deliberately, for example: "You are speaking to the automated assistant for [company name]. I can help with order status or put you through to the team."
Setting up the AI agent around opening hours
For a UK team, the common pattern is for people to answer in office hours and the AI agent to take overflow and after-hours calls. Aircall's IVR (the phone menu) and routing decide which calls go where, and Aircall IVR Setup: Phone Menu, Opening Hours and AI Hand-Off gives the settings. Three decisions are worth making before you build.
What the agent does: choose two or three jobs it can finish with no human, such as order status, opening hours and taking a message with a callback number. Anything else goes to voicemail or a human callback.
When it answers: a rule such as "after 17:30, at weekends and on bank holidays, and when all licences are busy for more than 20 seconds". Put bank holidays in the schedule early, since forgetting them is the usual way a UK firm's phones go unanswered.
Where hand-offs go: a hand-off at 02:00 has nobody to take it. Make the fallback a callback request that creates a task, for example through Aircall's HubSpot integration, so the first job each morning is a clear list of people to ring.
A filled-in example for the distributor, with figures kept illustrative:
Open hours: Mon-Fri 08:00-17:30, people answer (5 licences)
Overflow: any call unanswered after 20 seconds goes to the AI agent
After hours: AI agent takes order-status calls; all others take a message
Expected AI volume: 600 minutes a month (about 480 calls at 75 seconds)
Cost: (600 - 50) x £0.22 = £121 a month on pay as you go
Review: after four weeks, compare minutes used with the invoice
Emergency calls and other things a VoIP system will not do
Aircall, like many internet-based phone services, may limit dialling short numbers and emergency numbers. Its help centre says the desktop app allows UK emergency numbers 999, 112, 116000, 116111 and 116123, with no address required for the supported countries, and that emergency calls work only from numbers associated with the same country. On the mobile apps, emergency calls are redirected to the phone's own dialler.
Short numbers, usually four to six digits, generally cannot be dialled from Aircall. So if your staff ring a four-digit number for a carrier or a bank, they will need another phone. A workable rule for the office wall: "In an emergency, use a mobile or a landline, not the Aircall app." That belongs in your health-and-safety paperwork as much as in the phone settings.
A cost mistake that comes from reading the wrong page
Picture a small translation agency budgeting for Aircall. Someone opens the pricing page on a work laptop that shows dollar prices, types those figures into a spreadsheet and adds VAT to the dollar total. The finance lead then approves a budget in a currency the company will never be invoiced in, with a $99 AI Voice Agent minimum where the pound page shows £75 and a $0.29 rate where the pound rate is £0.22.
The lesson is mechanical. Open the pricing page for the country that matches your contract, note the currency symbol beside every figure you copy, and ask for a written quote that lists the currency, the VAT treatment and the billing term. Aircall's AI Voice Agent rates also changed during autumn 2026, so write the date you read each price into the spreadsheet.
A checklist to bring to the sales call
Use these items as a list of questions to confirm. Each one has a reason tied to the sections above.
- Are the quoted licence, number and AI prices in pounds, and do they exclude VAT?
- What is the price per licence on monthly billing, and what is the cancellation notice? (Annual saves 25%, per the page.)
- Which documents are needed for my number type, and how long will provisioning take?
- What are the SMS rates for my number, and is there any registration before sending?
- Is the £75 AI Voice Agent minimum a floor under usage or an extra charge, and do the 50 free minutes apply to a standalone account?
- What outbound calling rates apply to mobile and international destinations?
- How long do recordings stay in the dashboard, and how do I request older ones?
- Can I port my current number, and what is the timetable?
Once you have answers to those eight, compare the total with another system. Aircall Alternatives: Dialpad, RingCentral and Quo on Price sets out how three rivals compare, and the answer for a team of three to five with simple needs is not always Aircall. Where Aircall's three-seat minimum does not suit a one-person or two-person business, a lighter system or an AI answering service on your existing mobile may cost less.
How to check the set-up works after go-live
In the first week, ring each number from a mobile on a different network and ask for a recording to be played back. Confirm the announcement is heard, the right people ring, the voicemail transcript arrives, and the AI agent answers after hours with the greeting you wrote. Then in the first month, compare three numbers: minutes billed on the invoice against minutes in your forecast, calls the agent resolved against calls handed over, and the number of missed calls that reached nobody. If the third is not near zero, the routing needs another pass before you spend more on minutes.
UK questions about Aircall before you sign
Does Aircall charge VAT on top of the pound prices?
Aircall's UK pricing page does not mention VAT, so the safe assumption for a business buyer is that list prices exclude it. If VAT at the 20% standard rate were added, £125 a month would become £150. A VAT-registered firm normally reclaims it, but confirm on your quote.
Can the AI Voice Agent be used with UK numbers?
Aircall prices the AI Voice Agent in pounds for UK customers: £0.22 a minute pay as you go, with bundles from £180 for 1,000 minutes. The product supports 38 languages. Whether a particular number type works with the agent is worth confirming on your quote.
Can I dial 999 from Aircall?
Aircall's help centre says the desktop app allows UK emergency numbers 999, 112, 116000, 116111 and 116123, with no address required. On the mobile apps, emergency calls are redirected to the phone's own dialler. Do not treat Aircall as your only way to call emergency services.
Do I have to tell callers I am recording?
Under UK data-protection law you need a lawful basis and must be transparent. In practice that means a recorded announcement or a clear notice, and a privacy policy that covers recordings and AI transcripts. Aircall lets admins play a message before a call connects. Ask a qualified adviser to confirm what suits your sector.
Is monthly billing available in pounds?
Aircall says annual billing saves 25% against monthly pricing. The UK page shows annual-billing prices by default, with monthly figures behind its billing toggle. If the saving is exactly 25%, a monthly price would be about a third higher than the annual figure. Ask for the monthly quote in writing if you want to avoid a year's commitment.
